A Taste of Wales

Day One
Pick up from our mutually agreed point in South Wales and travel to The Welsh Heritage Museum at Saint Fagans where we will spend three fascinating hours. There are both a cafe' and restaurant on site if you require lunch. From Saint Fagans we proceed to another of Wales' top attractions, that is Big Pit where it is highly recommended that you take the cage underground for a memorable experience into the workings of a Welsh coal mine and the conditions the miners worked in. We return to our start point at approximately 5.30 pm. For those of you who are remaining with us for the extended tours,we will travel west to our overnight accommodation.

One Day Tour £40.

Day Two
After breakfast a 9am start sees us on a scenic drive through the winding roads of the first area to be designated an "area of outstanding natural beauty" by the UK Government known as the "Gower Peninsular". Lunch, if required, can be taken at the spectacularly situated Worms Head Hotel. We finish day two at the Dylan Thomas exhibition centre at Swansea, where you can listen to his poetry being recited by Richard Burton and study the American connection. Overnight in the Neath area.

Two Day Tour £95

Day Three
After breakfast a short journey to Llanelli railway station for the train to Carmarthen along a picturesque route which we consider to be one of the finest in Wales. We then drive through coastal hamlets into the Heart of the Pembrokeshire National Park to Tenby and lunch if you wish. After lunch we again travel west to the smallest City in the UK, that of Saint David's and its magnificent Cathedral complex. We then journey back to Swansea and the end of our "Taste of Wales"

Three Day Tour £169.

Accommodation for the two and three day tour is on a B&B basis. (We can recommend several venues for an evening meal if required.) Vacation Wales is able to arrange accommodation at the start or end of your tour should you wish, together with rail tickets to any UK mainland destination, simply email us your requests – we aim to make your break as enjoyable as possible.
